Privacy Policy — Patient Ready Watch

This Privacy Policy explains how Patient Ready ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Patient Ready Watch app for Wear OS and watchOS.

Patient Ready Watch is a companion app for dental practices that use the Patient Ready system. It requires an active Patient Ready office account and a pairing code issued by that office.

1) Information we collect

Depending on feature use, we may collect and process:

• Push notification identifiers (for example, OneSignal subscription IDs and platform push tokens).
• Watch identity metadata you provide in-app (for example, watch name and watch ID).
• Notification content sent to the app (title, message, room, action options, and notification IDs).
• Your responses to notification actions.
• Device metadata (for example, model, manufacturer, app version, and network status).
• Operational diagnostics and error logs.

Notifications carry a room and a reason chosen by your practice. The app is not a medical device and does not store or transmit patient health records.

2) How we use information

• Deliver, display, and manage notifications on the watch.
• Send your response actions to the Patient Ready backend.
• Associate responses with the correct notification and watch identity.
• Maintain local notification history on the device.
• Operate, debug, and improve reliability and performance.

3) Permissions

The app may request these Android permissions:

• INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — to communicate with backend services.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS and VIBRATE — to deliver alerts on the watch.
• WAKE_LOCK — for reliable background notification handling.
• ACCESS_NOTIFICATION_POLICY — so urgent alerts can be allowed through Do Not Disturb.

The app does not request microphone, camera, location, contacts, or health-data access.

4) Third-party services

We use third-party providers to operate app functionality:

• Patient Ready backend (app.patientready.co) — workflow processing and response handling.
• OneSignal — push notification delivery and related identifiers.
• Google/Android services and Apple Push Notification service — push transport required by the platform.

These providers process data according to their own privacy policies.

5) Data sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share data only as needed to provide app functionality (for example, delivering notifications and processing responses), to comply with legal obligations, or to protect rights and security.

6) Data retention

Notification data is stored on the device for app functionality and history until it is cleared by app logic or by you. Backend data retention varies based on operational requirements and the agreement with your practice.

7) Security

We use reasonable technical safeguards, including HTTPS transport for all network communication. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8) Children's privacy

This app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
